Trenton, New Jersey native-born Steve Braun is excited and proud to invite you to join him by participating in his baseball programs.

Major League Career
Steve played in the major leagues for 15 years. During his extensive pro career, he played for the Minnesota Twins, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals. A multi-position player, Braun played every position except pitcher and catcher. His real strength though has always been his formidable hitting ability.
His overall batting average is a hefty .271 and in 1975 he made the American League top ten hitters list with a whopping batting average of .302. He currently ranks 8th on the all time pinch hitting list. Braun’s biggest thrill was being a member of the 1982 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals.

Coaching Career
Steve returned to Mercer County in 1999 as the Head Batting Coach for the Trenton Thunder. His previous 13 years were spent as the Minor League Hitting Coordinator for the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals. Braun also did a one-year stint as the Major League Batting Coach where he coached Whitey Herzog’s St. Louis Cardinals. Braun has coached many current Major Leaguers such as Todd Zeile, Ray Lankford, Bernard Gilkey, Mo Vaughn, John Valentin and Nomar Garciaparra.

Mission
Steve's mission is to insure every child builds confidence and comprehends what it takes to reach their full potential. Steve's philosophy is that athletic excellence instills self confidence and teaches life long values of discipline, concentration and dedication for success in any future endeavor. Subjects in all of Steve's programs will range from the importance of being a student athlete to maintaining a healthy life style. Knowledge is the key to success and one of the goals of Steve's staff will be to insure children find this key.
